Medipost Holdings is a market leader in the pharmaceutical supply chain industry. Established in 1991, it is an integrated pharmaceutical courier group that dispenses both chronic and non-chronic medication to patients across Southern Africa at competitive rates. The Group services all major medical schemes in the country and has been awarded and retained contracts to distribute chronic medicines on behalf of several provincial health departments.

The Group, comprising four subsidiaries, primarily operates from two main branches, one in Pretoria, Gauteng and the other in Parow, Western Cape, with a broad distribution network throughout South Africa. It employs over 1,500 people, including over 700 Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants dedicated to medical schemes.

Medipost Pharmacy dispenses over 900,000 prescriptions monthly to approximately 400,000 members of various medical schemes, as well as to more than 1.3 million patients registered with public sector programs across South Africa. Medipost Pharmacy has a specialised facility for Oncology, Renal and HIV medication management and operates a 192-seat call centre help desk in 11 official languages.

Kawari is a SAHPRA-registered and ISO-certified (9001 & 13185) wholesaler and distributor, offering a comprehensive supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and medical consumables. The subsidiary is the primary supplier of pharmaceutical products to Medipost Pharmacy.

MediLogistics was established in 2012 as the in-house courier service for Medipost Pharmacy, providing end-to-end control over the courier pharmacy business and ensuring compliance with specified storage conditions for various types of medicines. Operating its 200-vehicle fleet, MediLogistics services a network of 2,300 medicine collection points, including those located at doctors’ practices, as well as 78 pickup points.

Beyond logistics, the Group remains committed to industry growth through its independent Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College, Medi Training Academy, which has upskilled more than 1,300 group employees to address the national skills shortage of qualified Pharmacy Assistants.
